IMPERIUM is a Kenyan clothing brand that fuses bold African design heritage with contemporary streetwear sensibility. The brand needed a complete visual identity system that would translate across apparel, accessories, and packaging - from fabric tags to retail displays.
The Brief
Create a brand concept that captures IMPERIUM’s positioning at the intersection of African identity and modern fashion. The deliverables needed to demonstrate how the brand would live across multiple product categories - from athletic wear to premium accessories - while maintaining a cohesive visual thread.
Great design doesn’t just dress the body - it tells the story of where you come from and where you’re going.
We developed a shield-inspired emblem that roots the brand in strength and heritage, paired with a modern sans-serif wordmark. The geometric African patterns were derived from traditional Kenyan textile motifs, reimagined for contemporary sportswear. Each product mockup demonstrates how these elements scale from large-format prints to subtle detailing.
The final concept package gave IMPERIUM a brand system that works across every product category. The shield emblem became the anchor point - appearing as a chest print on t-shirts, embossed on sneaker heels, woven into fabric tags, and scaled up on jacket backs. The geometric pattern library provided infinite variation while maintaining instant brand recognition.
IMPERIUM now has a visual identity that stands confidently alongside international streetwear brands while celebrating its Kenyan roots - proving that African design can lead, not follow, in the global fashion conversation.
